Privacy
What Mettlespark keeps about you, why, and how to have it removed. Written to be read, not skimmed.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address and, if you choose a password, a one-way hash of it. If you sign in with Google, the Google account identifier and the email Google confirms.
- Your profile: what you tell us in onboarding and My profile (name, current and target role, level, years of experience, education, country, work preferences, hours a week), your searches, and the roles you save.
- Your CV: the text we read from it, the file you uploaded, the skills found in it, and, if you have Mettlespark AI read it, the phrases that show each skill. It is used only to build your skill profile and the features you use it in.
- What you make: learning plans and your progress on them, tailored CV versions, applications you track, interview practice and notes, alerts you set, questions you ask and searches you type.
- Billing: whether you have a subscription and its status. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
- Early-access sign-ups: the name, email and role you enter on this site, so we can let you in and tell you about the launch.
Usage analytics
With your consent, the app records which views you open, what you click, how far you scroll, and where you got stuck, so we can see what works. Nothing you type is recorded, and no IP addresses are stored. In the UK and the European Economic Area this is off until you say yes; elsewhere you can switch it off in Settings at any time.
Mettlespark AI
Features marked Mettlespark AI (briefs, Ask, CV reading and rewriting, personalized plans, interview research and prep) are powered by Claude, a model from Anthropic. To answer, the relevant parts of your profile, your CV and the postings in question are sent to Anthropic's API and processed there under Anthropic's commercial terms, which do not use that data to train its models. Every prompt is screened first; a prompt that is refused is kept for review, and repeated refusals pause these features on your account until we look.
We email you about your account, receipts, and the alerts you ask for. Each alert email has a way to stop it. We don't sell or rent your details to anyone.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in. Google sign-in sets a short-lived cookie during sign-in only. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Where it lives and how long
Everything is stored with Amazon Web Services in the United States and reached through Cloudflare. Your data stays as long as your account does. Delete your CV from My profile and everything read from it goes too. Delete your account in Settings and all of the above is removed at once; receipts and invoices are kept as the law on bookkeeping requires.
Your rights
You can see, correct, export and delete what we hold about you. Most of it is in the app; for anything else, email us and we'll do it within 30 days.
